How To Measure Your Pupillary Distance (PD)
Your PD is short for pupillary distance. This is the distance in millimeters between the pupils of the eyes. This measurement is required to correctly position your lenses. Use a ruler to find your PD measurement.
Using a millimeter ruler
- 1. Position a ruler under your eyes - 0 should be under the center of the your left pupil.
- 2. Looking forward, mark were the ruler lines up with the center of your right pupil.
- 3. The average PD for an adult will range between 54-74mm and for children 43-54mm.
